I am working on an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. My client is a nationally operating business that due to organic growth require a commercial accounts assistant to join their in house finance team.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this role requires; confidence, passion, knowledge and the ability to challenge as required. Industry sector experience of working alongside recruitment businesses is highly advantageous although not essential.
Job Description:
- Accurately calculating invoice time sheet rebates
- Monitor business profitability through the analysis of commercial agreements
- Provide support to the senior accountants within the business with key reports
- Production and distribution of supporting reports for invoicing purposes
- Checking accuracy of invoices received and ensuring that all banking information correlates
- production of all self billing invoices, ensuring that all payments are authorised at MD level
- Ensuring agreements are updated accordingly
- Calculation of credits due
- Calculate weekly reports and provide clients with support needed to load relevant commissions and incentives
- Review all new commercial agreements to ensure terms are correctly recorded
- Conduct ongoing reviews of commercial agreements – Measuring performance
- Conducting financial risk assessments to confirm if advances can be made
- Manage the credit insurance portfolio – ensuring limits are applied for in a timely manner
- Monthly analysis and reconciliations
- Management accounts
- Supporting other departments (Purchase ledger, credit control, sales ledger) as required
- Maintain and develop client relationships
Requirements:
- Previous experience in an varied accounting role with exposure to all transactional processes
- Strong academic background (either degree qualified or studying AAT/ ACCA/ CIMA)
- Excellent communication skills – ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and challenge discrepancies
- Commercial understanding and approach
- Level of professionalism
- Ability to work to time deadlines in a sometimes pressured environment
- High degree of attention to detail
- Ambitious and hungry to progress and develop
- Ability to effectively prioritise
- Posses a pragmatic approach
- Team working skills
- Recruitment industry/ employment margins experience is highly advantageous although not essential
