My client require an additional credit controller to join their team. Although predominately credit control focused this role will require the successful candidate to support other areas of the business and work closely with management accounts. Job Description:

  • Take responsibility for a ledger of existing and aged debt
  • Proactively chasing debts within agreed time scales via telephone and email
  • Resolving any customer queries to ensure prompt payment
  • Making regular collection calls to ensure all group targets are met
  • Providing copy invoices as required
  • Ensure all customer account records are up to date with any correspondence and updated accordingly
  • Process and respond to incoming post
  • Process any credit or debit card payments
  • Allocate payments to relevant accounts
  • Complete account reconciliations
  • Opening new customer accounts – ensuring all information is accurately updated
  • Completing and updating customer credit checks
  • Assisting with month end debtor reporting
  • Providing weekly credit control and debt reports to key business stakeholders
  • Follow collections through to litigation as required
  • Ensure unmatched cash receipts and payments are kept to a minimal


  • Excellent communication skills – ability to build and develop customer relationships
  • Previous credit control/ sales ledger experience is preferential – Accounting understanding is a MUST
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a target driven and pressured environment

  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently

  • Excellent computerised systems skills – ideally Sage

  • Ideally be studying towards a professional qualification – This is advantageous although not essential
