Payments Clerk – Accounts Payable (12 Months Contract) / Salary £24,000+ Benefits/ Agile Working/ Immediate Start/ Manchester City Centre

NC Associates is working on a opportunity for an Payments Clerk to fulfil an requirement in Manchester City Centre. This role will suit somebody who has had exposure within Payments and Accounts Payable, Ideally within a larger business or Shared Service Centre Environment. This will initially be a 12-month FTC with the potential to develop into a permanent role.

The successful candidate will be working alongside a supportive team and will have the ability to split their working hours (37.5 per week) between home and the office.

Job Description:

  • Ensure compliance to controls
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders and act as an escalation route where required
  • Manage AP Compliance Mailbox
  • Redirect invoices
  • Ensure Contract Releases requested by procurement
  • Manage payment runs: international, payroll & manual payments
  • Manage New vendor approvals
  • Ensure court claims to be passed on to legal team
  • Maintain the rebate vendor tracker
  • AP-GL reconciliation’s management
  • Half year and year end preparation work for cash actions
  • Batching and filing payment run
  • Month end reporting 
  • Debit balances and Direct Debits
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvements
  • Any other tasks deemed to be suitable as delegated by the Accounts Payable Management Team

Experience Required

  • Experience of working with both direct and indirect Suppliers
  • Highly organised, and able to prioritise work appropriately
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – with the wider team, internal and external stakeholders
  • Accounts Payable Knowledge
  • Good Level of Excel knowledge – Pivot & Look up Tables
  • SAP experience desirable
