Credit Controller Role Overview

NC Associates are excited to be partnering with a leading and growing organisation in Wrexham to recruit an experienced Credit Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and results-driven individual to join a dynamic finance team in a people-focused business offering great career development. Reporting to the Credit Control Team Leader, you will play a key role in managing the company’s Credit Control function and maintaining a strong ledger.

Credit Controller – Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a large portfolio of customer accounts, chasing outstanding invoices by phone daily.
  • Make high-volume outbound calls to ensure prompt payment and reduce aged debt.
  • Build strong relationships with customers to encourage timely payments and resolve issues quickly.
  • Handle payment queries, disputes, and account reconciliations with professionalism and persistence.
  • Work closely with sales and finance teams to resolve billing issues and keep accounts accurate.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate notes of all customer contact and collection activity.
  • Monitor and report on overdue accounts, escalating problem debts when necessary.
  • Hit individual and team collection targets while keeping bad debt to a minimum.
  • Support the wider credit control team with month-end and reporting tasks as required.

What We’re Looking For:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a B2B Credit Control/Debt Recovery role.
  • A motivated and target-driven approach to debt collection.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain strong relationships.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage workload effectively.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience using finance systems.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve individual and team targets.
