Group Finance Assistant Role

Services include skip hire, general waste collection, and advanced recycling facilities designed to maximise recycling and reuse efficiencies while reducing costs for customers. This is a full-time, on-site role for an Group Finance Assistant, based in the Wrexham. The position supports the finance function across reporting, analysis, and day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial information.
Group Finance Assistant Responsibilities
- Posting daily bank receipts and ensuring accurate allocation of income
- Performing regular bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
- Preparing and processing supplier and ad-hoc payments
- Managing company vehicle-related payments, including leases, fuel cards, and associated costs
- Processing and reconciling employee expenses in line with company policy
- Assisting with monthly management accounts and financial statement preparation
- Supporting financial reporting, reconciliations, and journal postings
- Maintaining accurate financial records within accounting systems
- Assisting with audit preparation and responding to audit queries
- Providing ad-hoc financial analysis and support to the wider finance team
Group Finance Assistant Experience Required
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts-based administrative role
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial management
- Experience using accounting software
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, on-site team environment
