A well-established and reputable dealership based in Knutsford is looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Accountant to join its busy finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong motor trade experience who is looking to step into a broader role with increased responsibility and exposure to month-end and reporting.
You will play a key role in supporting the Dealership Accountant and ensuring the smooth running of the accounts function within a fast-paced dealership environment.
Assistant Accountant Duties

Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts

Completing balance sheet reconciliations

Assisting with month-end and year-end processes
-
Overseeing purchase and sales ledger activities
-
Monitoring vehicle stock reconciliations
-
Reviewing daily banking and cash allocations
-
Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
-
Ensuring compliance with internal controls and manufacturer standards

Providing ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required
What You’ll Need
To be successful in your application you MUST have the following:

Proven experience working within a motor trade dealership accounts department

Strong understanding of dealership accounting processes and controls
-
Experience using a Dealer Management System (Kerridge, Autoline or similar)

Experience assisting with month-end and management accounts
-
Strong Excel skills
-
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
-
A proactive, organised and team-focused approach
AAT qualified or studying (or equivalent experience) would be advantageous.
