Sales Ledger Clerk Role Overview

NC Associates are currently recruiting a Sales Ledger Clerk to join an organisation based in Mold. You will ensure timely collection of payments, and maintenance of up-to-date financial records. You will be working in a small team, reporting into the Sales Ledger Manager.

Sales Ledger Clerk Responsibilities:

  • Support month-end processes by ensuring accurate ledger reporting and providing key financial data.
  • Manage and maintain the sales ledger, keeping all customer accounts accurate, complete, and fully reconciled.
  • Post and allocate cash receipts to customer accounts accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and issue invoices, credit notes, and statements in line with agreed billing cycles and company procedures.
  • Monitor aged debt, proactively chase outstanding balances, and escalate issues where appropriate.
  • Reconcile customer accounts, resolving discrepancies and responding to billing queries promptly.
  • Assist with credit control activity while maintaining positive and professional customer relationships.
  • Manage customer terminations and final billing, ensuring accounts are closed correctly, final invoices are issued accurately, payments are received in line with procedure, and legal escalation is handled where required in conjunction with solicitors.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements within the finance function to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Sales Ledger Clerk Experience 

  • Previous experience in a similar Sales Ledger / Credit Control role
  • Strong understanding of invoicing, credit control, and account reconciliation.
  • Experience using Xero – Desirable 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
