Accounts Assistant Overview
NC Associates are working with a well-established law firm based in Chester City Centre who are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous purchase ledger or transactional finance experience who is looking to develop their career within a professional services environment. Working as part of a supportive accounts team, you will play a key role in ensuring supplier payments are processed accurately while supporting the wider finance function.
Accounts Assistant Key Responsibilities
- Processing purchase ledger invoices, including coding, inputting, scanning, and matching invoices
- Preparing weekly supplier payment runs
- Reconciling supplier statements and purchase ledger accounts
- Managing employee expenses and company credit card transactions
- Investigating and resolving invoice, payment, and account discrepancies
- Supporting month-end purchase ledger reconciliations
- Liaising with suppliers and responding to payment queries professionally
- Assisting with ad-hoc finance and administration duties to support the wider accounts team
Accounts Assistant Experience Required
- Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant or Purchase Ledger role
- Strong understanding of purchase ledger processes and supplier reconciliations
- Excellent numerical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident user of Microsoft Excel and other finance systems
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
