Accounts Manager Role
NC Associates are working exclusively with a well-established UKAS-accredited environmental consultancy that’s built a strong reputation for accuracy, innovation, and integrity. Founded in 2012, they specialise in asbestos surveying, air monitoring, and compliance services — combining in-house laboratory testing, mobile technology, and expert consultancy to help clients maintain safe, compliant environments. They are now looking for an experienced Accounts Manager to join their team.
Accounts Manager Responsibilities
- Take ownership of all company financial processes — from compliance and reporting to day-to-day accounting functions.
- Prepare, issue, and follow up on invoices to guarantee accuracy and prompt payments.
- Keep on top of outstanding balances, chasing and liaising with clients where needed to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Ensure all project works are invoiced quickly and correctly.
- Manage the company’s monthly payroll submissions and handle all related HMRC communications, including EPS (Employer Payment Summary) and FPS (Full Payment Submission).
- Work closely with the Managing Director and Senior Manager to coordinate and oversee project finances.
- Provide financial guidance and training to internal teams when needed, supporting wider business understanding and efficiency.
- Assist the management team with financial planning and ensure all statutory and regulatory obligations are met.
Accounts Manager Experience Required
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Hands-on experience with Xero accounting software (this one’s non-negotiable).
- Familiarity with TEAMS asbestos surveying and compliance software is a plus — but training can be provided.
- Background in construction or consultancy industries is highly advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills and strong communication abilities.
- Confidence in dealing directly with HMRC and managing payroll-related submissions.
