We are working in partnership with a well-established accountancy practice based in Manchester to recruit an experienced Accounts Senior. This is a key role within the practice, supporting a portfolio of clients across various sectors. The successful candidate will be technically strong, proactive, and confident, with excellent client-facing and team management skills.
Accounts Senior Duties

Managing a portfolio of clients from preparation of accounts through to completion

Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders

Handling bookkeeping, VAT, and payroll queries where required

Reviewing and supervising work of junior staff, providing guidance and training

Liaising with clients, resolving queries, and providing proactive advice

Supporting audit and compliance work where required

Ensuring deadlines are met and work is completed accurately and to a high standard
Essential Experience Required
To be successful in your application you MUST have the following:
-
ACA, ACCA, part-qualified or equivalent experience within an accountancy practice

Previous experience within an accountancy practice, ideally with exposure to a varied client portfolio

Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT, and compliance

Experience managing or mentoring junior staff

Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines

Confident client-facing and communication skills

Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and accounting software
