NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and growing business to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and hands-on finance professional who enjoys taking full ownership of the day-to-day accounts function and is comfortable working independently without micromanagement.
This role would suit someone who takes pride in accuracy, organisation, and maintaining strong financial control across purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, and cash flow activities.
Bookkeeper Responsibilities
- Managing the purchase ledger end-to-end, including invoice processing, reconciliations, and payments
- Running the sales ledger and credit control function
- Completing bank reconciliations and posting financial transactions
- Managing employee expenses and company spend
- Supporting and running payroll processes
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Supporting month-end reconciliations and reporting
- Monitoring and managing day-to-day cash flow visibility
- Liaising with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve queries
- Ensuring finance systems are accurate, organised, and maintained
- Processing CIS returns and subcontractor payments
- Working within a subcontractor-heavy environment
Bookkeeper Experience Required
To be successful in your application, you should have the following experience:
Essential:
- Proven experience in a Bookkeeper or similar all-round finance role
- Strong working knowledge of Sage
- Solid understanding of end-to-end accounts processes
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
Desirable:
- Experience with CIS reporting and subcontractor payments
- Payroll experience
- Background in construction, engineering, or similar industries
