Bookkeeper – Client Accountant Role Overview
NC Associates are working with a rapidly growing and dynamic accountancy practice based in the Bury area, providing management accounts and bookkeeping services to medium-sized businesses across the Northwest. Due to expansion, they are looking for a motivated Bookkeeper to join their team.
Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will manage your own portfolio of clients, ensuring their bookkeeping needs are met. This is a busy and varied role, requiring someone who can hit the ground running. Full handover and client-specific training will be provided.
You will be based in the office but will also work from home and client premises as required.
Bookkeeper – Client Accountant Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a portfolio of clients managing all aspects of Bookkeeping for them
- Visiting clients premises to carry out Bookkeeping duties
- Managing purchase and sales ledger, raising and entering invoices in Sage/Xero
- Processing sales and purchase orders in Sage/Xero
- Performing bank reconciliation’s
- Preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with HMRC deadlines
- Working with multiple currencies, bank accounts, departments, and CIS (beneficial)
- Producing accounts to trial balance stage (beneficial)
- All other day-to-day accounts and office duties, including maintaining accurate files and timely data entry
Essential Experience Required:
- Experience preparing VAT returns
- AAT part qualified – qualified
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience or proven track record in a similar role
- Driving licence and own vehicle as you will be commuting to various clients premises
- Excellent communication skills
- Confidence to work off site
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment
