Legal Credit Controller/ Manchester City Centre/ Agile Working (3 Days in the Office/ 2 Days WFH) / Excellent Benefits/ Annual Bonus

I am looking for an experienced Credit Controller with Legal Sector experience to support my client, an internationally operating and continually growing Firm based in Manchester City Centre.

This role will require Legal Sector experience and the ability to liaise with senior internal and external stakeholders at a senior level.

Job Description:

  • Management of a large ledger of outstanding legal debt
  • Proactively chasing outstanding amounts as per agreed payment dates
  • Ensuring billing is completed accurately and correctly for each individual case/ client
  • Management of divisional WIP
  • Ensuring all accounts are closed accordingly
  • Management of all billing queries and discrepancies – resolving promptly and professionally
  • Liaising with fee earners to ensure that all outstanding amounts are collected within agreed time frames
  • Attending regular meetings with the Senior Finance Team to report on aged and ongoing debt
  • Liaising with the Sales Ledger Team regarding billing queries
  • Month end reporting
  • Supporting continual process and systems improvements
  • Providing training to junior team members on process

Requirements:

  • Previous Credit Control experience in a senior capacity
  • Credit Control experience gained within the legal sector – full understanding of legal collections processes
  • Excellent communication skills – the confidence and ability to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • An understanding of WIP
  • Ideally be working towards professional accounting/ credit control qualifications
  • A motivated, positive, and enthusiastic approach to duties
  • The ability to manage a high-volume workload
  • The ability to work independently, making decisions as required but also support and work alongside a team
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong computerized systems skills
  • Must be happy to work on an agile basis (3 days in the office, Manchester City Centre)
