About the Firm
NC Associates is delighted to be working with a long-established and well-respected Accountancy Practice based in Wirral. The firm is forward-thinking, ambitious, and focused on delivering an excellent client service. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their Wirral office.
The business offers a supportive and encouraging working environment, with flexible hybrid working.
Standalone Payroll Specialist Key Responsibilities

Managing weekly and monthly payrolls and pension schemes for a portfolio of clients

Processing payroll changes including starters, leavers, bonuses, overtime, sickness, unpaid leave, SMP, SAP, expenses, childcare vouchers, travel allowances and pensions

Uploading and managing pension contributions across multiple pension providers

Setting up PAYE and pension schemes for new clients

Liaising with clients and HMRC, including submission of tax, NI, P45s, P46s, P11Ds and CIS returns

Responding to payroll-related queries

Producing spreadsheets to support payroll and CIS reporting

Ensuring compliance with current HMRC and pension legislation

Filing confirmation statements with Companies House

Onboarding new clients, completing MLR checks and setting them up on internal systems

Managing agent authorisations for tax purposes

Working closely with clients and directors

Handling incoming and outgoing post
Standalone Payroll Specialist Experience
-
Previous experience within an accountancy practice is essential

Strong working knowledge of BrightPay and BrightPay Connect
-
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Excellent understanding of PAYE and Auto Enrolment

Able to work independently, manage workloads, and meet deadlines

Proactive approach to problem-solving

Basic knowledge of how payroll interacts with other tax areas

Confident and professional communicator
