NC Associates are partnering with a growing organisation based in Stockport to recruit an experienced Credit Controller to join their established finance team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a varied ledger while working within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting cash flow performance, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring timely resolution of outstanding balances across a diverse customer base.

Credit Controller Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of customer accounts to ensure prompt payment of outstanding invoices
  • Proactively reducing aged debt through structured collection activity
  • Investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies in partnership with internal departments
  • Performing regular account reconciliations to maintain ledger accuracy
  • Reviewing customer credit limits and monitoring exposure levels
  • Producing reporting around overdue balances and collection activity
  • Supporting dispute resolution processes to accelerate payment timelines
  • Working closely with Sales and Finance teams to address payment-related queries
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer account information
  • Assisting with process improvements across credit control procedures where appropriate

Credit Controller Experience & Skills Required
To be considered, applicants should demonstrate:

  • Previous experience within Credit Control or Accounts Receivable
  • Strong track record of managing customer relationships and improving payment performance
  • Confidence handling high-volume ledgers in a structured environment
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong organisational ability with attention to detail
  • Comfortable working to deadlines and prioritising workload effectively
  • Intermediate Excel skills beneficial
  • Proactive approach with a solutions-focused mindset
