NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and growing Accountancy Practice based in Nantwich to recruit an Accountancy Practice Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and client-focused accountant looking to step into a leadership role acting as a key link between the Directors and the wider accounts team.
The role will involve managing a portfolio of clients while supporting and mentoring junior team members, ensuring high-quality service delivery and strong technical compliance across the practice.
Accountancy Practice Manager Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of owner-managed business clients across a range of sectors
- Reviewing statutory accounts, management accounts, and working papers prepared by junior team members
- Monitoring reporting deadlines and ensuring timely delivery of client work
- Reviewing VAT returns and tax computations to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Ensuring all assignments are completed in line with UK GAAP and internal procedures
- Acting as a key point of contact between Directors and junior members of the accounts team
- Supporting, mentoring, and developing Accounts Assistants and junior staff
- Attending client meetings alongside Directors where appropriate
- Managing client queries and building strong, long-term client relationships
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional services to clients where appropriate
- Supporting workflow planning and ensuring efficient delivery across the team
Accountancy Practice Manager Experience Required
To be successful in your application, you should have the following experience:
Essential:
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
- Strong background working within an Accountancy Practice environment
- Excellent technical knowledge of UK GAAP and statutory accounts preparation
- Experience reviewing work completed by junior staff
- Strong client-facing communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Desirable:
- Previous experience supporting or supervising junior team members
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients
